DeLago: Camillo Responded to Constituents in OG with Sidewalks on Shore Rd

Submitted by Helen DeLago,  Shore Road resident, Old Greenwich

Our extremely responsive and responsible First Selectman Fred Camillo heard the “cry” from his constituents in Old Greenwich.

There was an extremely important need to install sidewalks along Shore Road for the safety of the people who live, walk, jog and ride bikes.

More than 2500 vehicles use this road to enter Old Greenwich. This includes 18-wheeler trucks entering Old Greenwich in order to make deliveries to Dunkin’ Donuts, Kings, CVS and Ace Hardware. The reason being the bridges leading into town are too low for them to enter town.

The residents are seeking pedestrian safety for the neighborhood. Most importantly of course, is the need to provide for the school age youngsters waiting at various bus stops. They require a safe place to stand!

I commend First Selectman Fred Camillo for recognizing the need to make pedestrian safety, through “SOS,” as top priority for all citizens using the Shore Road.
